What this website collects
Plain English for guests of Book North Austin. Last updated October 17, 2026. This is a summary for guests, not legal advice.
What we collect
- Inquiry form. Name, email, dates, guest count, and your message, plus which home you asked about.
- Ask box. When you use Ask, we save the question, the answer, the home you picked, the page path, how long the answer took, token counts, a topic tag, and the model name. We also save visitor info: IP address, country, region, region code, city, postal code, latitude, longitude, timezone, continent, ASN, network organization, colo, user agent, device type, browser, operating system, accept-language, referrer, utm source, utm medium, utm campaign, and whether the request looks like a bot. We use this for analytics and to improve answers. Only the owner, Joe, the host, can see these records. They are not published or sold. They are kept for up to 365 days. To ask us to delete them, email [email protected].
- Mailing list. The email address you type, and whether you want yearly or monthly notes.
- Direct booking (only if you request a stay on this site). Name, email, phone, dates, guest count, adult names, pet count, service-animal count, a government photo ID image, the rental-agreement version, the time you accepted the agreement, house rules, and guest counts, and the IP address on that acceptance. Card payment is handled by Stripe for Grape Wine LLC. We do not see or store your full card number. We do not use Stripe Identity.
Who receives it
- FormSubmit delivers inquiry, mailing-list, and unsubscribe forms to the host.
- Stripe processes card payments and stores the card for the later charges in the rental agreement.
- Resend sends guest emails from [email protected] when that service is turned on.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on these pages.
- Cloudflare hosts the public website and the booking database. The government photo ID image is stored in a private bucket. It is not published on this site. The hosts open it only through a private link.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics receives page views, the page URL, the referrer, and basic browser and device info. It sets no cookies.
What we do not publish
We do not use Stripe Identity. The government photo ID you upload with a booking request is stored privately and is not published on these pages. Street addresses and door codes are emailed after the payments that are due have cleared. They are not published on these pages. A Ring doorbell at the outside entry is disclosed in the house rules. Nothing records inside the home. Ask-box records are not published. Only the owner, Joe, the host, can see them. If you book on Airbnb or Vrbo instead, that stay is covered by that company’s privacy policy.
Why we collect it
To reply to your question, to send the stay notes you asked for, or to approve a request, take payment, and email check-in details. Ask-box records are used for analytics and to improve answers.
How long we keep it
The government photo ID image is deleted 30 days after checkout. If a request is declined or cancelled, that image is deleted 30 days after the decline or cancellation. Booking records are kept at least 4 years after checkout for hotel-tax records. Inquiry emails are kept 24 months. Mailing-list addresses stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We do not store full card numbers. Ask-box questions, answers, and the visitor info listed above are deleted after 365 days. Joe can change this schedule; it is the retention used by the site as of October 17, 2026.

Ask us to delete something
Email [email protected] and say what you want removed. We will take it off the mailing list and delete inquiry, Ask-box, or booking details we still hold, except records we have to keep for taxes or an active stay.
